Spenningsmålere

Spenningsmålere, also known as strain gauges, are sensors used to measure the deformation or strain of an object. They work by utilizing the piezoresistive effect, where the electrical resistance of a material changes in response to mechanical strain. A typical spenningsmåler consists of a thin, flexible foil or wire patterned into a grid. When this grid is bonded to the surface of an object, any strain in the object causes a corresponding strain in the grid. This strain alters the length and cross-sectional area of the conductive elements, thereby changing their electrical resistance.

This change in resistance is very small, so spenningsmålere are usually connected in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. This arrangement amplifies the small resistance change into a measurable voltage output. The output voltage is directly proportional to the strain applied to the object. By calibrating the spenningsmåler, the measured voltage can be converted into a precise value of strain.
