Soleicidalists

Soleicidalists are individuals or groups who advocate for or practice self-liquidation, a concept often interpreted as the voluntary cessation of human existence. This philosophical stance typically arises from a belief that humanity's continued existence is inherently harmful or unsustainable, either to the planet or to itself. The term "soleicidalist" is derived from the Latin words "solus" meaning alone or sole, and "caedere" meaning to kill.

The motivations behind soleicidalist beliefs can vary. Some may point to environmental degradation and the perceived inability of humans to reverse their destructive impact as a primary driver. Others might focus on the suffering inherent in human life, including disease, conflict, and existential despair. In some interpretations, soleicidalism is not necessarily about violent or immediate extinction, but rather a gradual and deliberate decrease in the human population through a refusal to reproduce, thereby allowing the species to fade away.
