Positive reinforcement, like praise or treats, is crucial when the animal successfully eliminates in the correct location.

The training process typically involves patience and consistency. Owners need to observe their pets for signs that they need to go, such as sniffing the ground, circling, or whining. If an accident occurs indoors, it's important to clean it up thoroughly without punishing the animal, as punishment can create fear and anxiety, hindering progress. Gradually, as the animal matures and understands the routine, it will begin to signal its need to go out.
