Sisuvalik

Sisuvalik is an Estonian term that translates roughly to “content selection” and is commonly used to describe a navigation component in digital interfaces. The word combines sisu (content) and valik (selection or choice), and the term is used in web design, software, and digital publishing to refer to a way of accessing content or sections within a product.

In practice, a sisuvalik may take the form of a table of contents, a sidebar navigation panel, or a hierarchical menu listing chapters, topics, or articles. It can feature expand-and-collapse sections, jump links to anchors, and integrated search. Accessibility considerations, such as keyboard navigation and screen-reader compatibility, are often important when implementing a sisuvalik.
