Siiditrükis

Siiditrükis, also known as screen printing, is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. A fill blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to pass ink through the mesh in the areas defined by the stencil. This allows for the application of ink onto a substrate, such as fabric, paper, or plastic.

The process begins with the creation of a stencil, typically made from a photosensitive emulsion. A design is printed onto a transparent film, which is then placed over the mesh. When exposed to UV light, the emulsion hardens in the areas where the film blocks the light, while the emulsion in the open areas of the design washes away, leaving a stencil.

During printing, the screen is placed over the substrate. Ink is poured onto the screen, and a squeegee is used to push the ink through the open areas of the stencil, transferring the design onto the material. This method is versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications, from T-shirt printing and posters to industrial components and electronics.
