Sihtrühmas

Sihtrühmas is the inessive form of the Estonian term sihtrühm, meaning “in the target group.” In everyday usage it refers to the specific subset of a population that a product, service, campaign, or message is intended to reach. The concept is central to marketing, advertising, media planning, and political communication, where strategies are developed to address the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the SIHTRÜHM.

Defining a target group typically involves market segmentation across several dimensions. Demographic factors include age, gender, income, and education. Geographic criteria specify location. Psychographic segmentation covers values, interests, and lifestyle, while behavioral segmentation looks at purchasing patterns, brand loyalty, and product usage. Through data collection and analysis, organizations create profiles or personas that illustrate the characteristics and motivations of the sihtrühm.

Practical use of the concept involves tailoring messaging, creative assets, and channels to maximize relevance and impact.
