Serynthia

Serynthia is a fictional archipelagic nation described as located in the northern Valoran Sea. It comprises about a dozen inhabited islands with deep harbors and volcanic terrain. The capital, Mirenza, is on the largest island. The official language is Serynthian, with several regional languages spoken by minority communities.

Serynthia traces its political identity to medieval maritime republics and grew through trade and shipbuilding. It achieved de facto independence in the late 19th century and has functioned as a constitutional republic since the early 20th century, with periodic reforms to expand civil liberties.

The state is a constitutional republic with a unicameral Grand Assembly and an executive council led by a Prime Minister. A largely ceremonial President acts as head of state. The judiciary is independent, and civil liberties are constitutionally protected.

The archipelago features volcanic peaks, terraced coasts, and several natural harbors that support a busy shipping network. The economy is diversified, with maritime services, biotechnology, software services, and artisanal glass production forming major sectors.

Population is around two million, with urbanized centers on Mirenza and nearby islands. Serynthian is the dominant language; minority communities speak Varin and other regional languages. Cultural life centers on glassmaking, maritime folklore, music, and seasonal festivals.

Serynthia hosts the Mirenza Institute of Technology and a national Glass Archives. The Crystal Harbor port complex is a notable economic and tourist site, while the nation maintains several international ports and a modest defense posture.
