Archipelagic is an adjective relating to an archipelago, a cluster of islands dispersed across a body of water. In geography, archipelagic areas are characterized by numerous islands, islets, reefs, and interconnecting channels, often with diverse marine and coastal environments. The term emphasizes the spatial and ecological coherence of these island chains, as opposed to a single continuous landmass.

Archipelagic regions occur in many parts of the world, frequently in tropical and subtropical seas. They can be volcanic, such as island arcs, or composed of coral atolls and accreted landmasses.
