Sejare

Sejare is a fictional town and regional center in the eastern lowlands of Nyra, a hypothetical country used in discussions of urban geography. In the imagined setting, Sejare lies on the Sesha River, about 40 kilometers inland from the coast and near a belt of mixed agriculture and woodland.

Covering about 18 square kilometers, Sejare sits on a flat to gently rolling plain. The climate is temperate with warm summers and cool winters; average annual precipitation around 700 millimeters, concentrated in spring and autumn.

Founded in the 12th century by migrating communities, Sejare grew as a trading post due to river access. It experienced steady growth during the industrial era of the 19th century and underwent later expansion with the arrival of a regional railway in the early 20th century. Modern development has continued into the present fictional period.

Population is around 23,000. The town is ethnically diverse within the fictional framework, with Nyrian as the official language and Sejaran as a commonly spoken dialect. The government follows a mayor-council system, with twelve wards and a regional council providing local oversight.

Economy centers on agriculture—grain, vegetables, and dairy—alongside food processing, logistics, and small manufacturing. Sejare benefits from a river port and a regional rail link to nearby cities, complemented by a network of roads that connect farms with urban markets.

Notable landmarks include the Old Bridge, the Riverfront Market, and the Sesha Library. The Cathedral of St. Hadrian anchors the town’s historic quarter. Annual events such as the River Festival and a weekly market highlight Sejare’s traditional crafts and culinary specialties.
