Hadrian
Hadrian was a Roman emperor who reigned from 117 to 138 CE. Born in 76 CE at Italica in the province of Hispania, he was the adopted son and successor of Trajan. Upon Trajan’s death, Hadrian consolidated his rule with a focus on securing and stabilizing the empire rather than pursuing further conquests. He personally traveled widely across the provinces, seeking to understand and manage imperial frontiers.
