Saukkoeläimet, scientifically known as Lutrinae, are a subfamily of semi-aquatic or aquatic carnivorous mammals belonging to the family Mustelidae. This group encompasses a diverse range of species, commonly referred to as otters, found across various continents. They are characterized by their streamlined bodies, dense waterproof fur, webbed feet, and long, muscular tails, all adaptations for life in or near water.
