Samhällsskyddssystemet, often referred to as the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, is a governmental organization responsible for coordinating and managing Sweden’s civil defense and crisis management efforts. Established in 2007, it operates under the Ministry of Defense and serves as a central authority for preparedness, response, and recovery in cases of major crises, disasters, or threats to national security.
