SKTT1

SK Telecom T1, commonly known as SKT T1, is a professional esports organization based in Seoul, South Korea. It is owned by SK Telecom and fields teams in several games, with its League of Legends squad being the most prominent. Since its rise in the early 2010s, the LoL team has established a reputation as one of the most successful and influential organizations in competitive gaming.

The League of Legends team achieved unprecedented success in international competition. They won the World Championship three times, in 2013, 2015, and 2016, and claimed the Mid-Season Invitational title in 2016. The team has also secured multiple domestic championships in the Korean League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), reflecting a period of sustained excellence in both regional and global play. The organization’s identity has long been closely tied to its star players, most notably Lee Sang-hyeok, known as Faker, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the game’s history and a central figure in SKT T1’s success.

Over the years the roster has included a number of prominent players in addition to Faker, and the team has undergone various changes in personnel as it competed across seasons. In 2019 the organization rebranded from SK Telecom T1 to T1, adopting a broader branding while maintaining its competitive identity. Nevertheless, the legacy of SKT T1 remains a defining chapter in the history of League of Legends, with the team often cited as one of the sport’s most dominant franchises. Today, T1 continues to compete in the LCK and in international tournaments, carrying forward its legacy in Korean and world esports.
