SEEKCUR

SEEKCUR is an open-source software platform for integrated search and curation of digital content. It is designed to help libraries, archives, and research teams locate material across heterogeneous data sources, assess relevance, and assemble curated collections for publishing or research workflows. The project emphasizes transparent provenance, reproducible workflows, and human-in-the-loop decision making.

SEEKCUR stands for Search, Explore, Evaluate, and Curate. The platform provides connectors to databases, content management systems, file stores, and open data feeds, and uses a scalable search index built on Lucene-based technology (Elasticsearch or OpenSearch) to support full-text search, faceted navigation, and semantic ranking. Ingestion pipelines extract metadata and text, normalize schemas, deduplicate records, and enrich items with linked data where available.

A core feature is its curation workflow, which enables editors and researchers to annotate items, configure evaluation criteria, and approve or reject items for inclusion in a curated set. Access control and audit trails support collaboration in institutions with multiple contributors. The platform can export curated collections in common formats (CSV, JSON, RDF) and integrates with citation managers and repositories.

SEEKCUR originated as an academic-industry collaboration in the mid-2020s and released its first public version in 2023. It is maintained by a community-driven governance model under an open-source license (e.g., Apache 2.0 or MIT) with periodic releases, plugin extensions, and documented APIs.
