Røykpiper

Røykpiper is the Norwegian term for smoking pipes, devices used to smoke tobacco and related substances. A typical pipe comprises a bowl where the material is burned, a shank connecting the bowl to the stem, and a mouthpiece through which the user inhales the smoke. The user lights the bowl, tavks the flame, and draws air through the stem to draw smoke from the burning material.

Pipes are made from a variety of materials, with briar wood being the most common due to its heat resistance and moisture-absorbing properties. Other materials include meerschaum, clay, and corncob. Designs vary widely, including popular shapes such as billiard, pot, bulldog, and Dublin. The choice of material and form influences cooling, flavor, and the overall smoking experience.
