Robotehnikas

Robotehnikas, often referred to as robotics in English, is a field of study and practice that encompasses the design, construction, operation, and application of robots. It is an interdisciplinary area that draws upon mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and artificial intelligence. Robots are programmable machines capable of performing a series of actions automatically. They can range from simple automated devices to complex, intelligent systems.

The fundamental purpose of robotics is to create machines that can perform tasks that are dangerous, repetitive, or require high precision, thereby augmenting human capabilities and improving efficiency. Early applications of robotics were primarily in industrial settings, such as in manufacturing and assembly lines, where robots could perform tasks with speed and consistency. Over time, the scope of robotics has expanded significantly.

Modern robotics finds applications in diverse sectors including healthcare, where robots are used for surgery and rehabilitation; exploration, with robots venturing into space or deep-sea environments; logistics, for automated warehousing and delivery; and even in domestic settings, with the development of robotic vacuum cleaners and other household assistants. Research in robotics continues to focus on enhancing robot intelligence, mobility, dexterity, and human-robot interaction. The goal is to create robots that are more autonomous, adaptable, and capable of working alongside humans in increasingly complex ways.
