Rjastra

Rjastra is a fictional island nation in the northern Atlantic region of Valoria. It is described as a constitutional republic with a parliamentary system. The capital is Nalis. The population is approximately 2.3 million. The official language is Rjastran; English is widely used in business and education. The currency is the jas (JAS).

Rjastra consists of a dispersed archipelago with rugged coastlines, fjordlike inlets, and several inland lakes. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers. The largest islands—Northmere, Southhaven, Verdun, and Lyris—host most urban areas and ports.

Settlement dates to the early medieval era. Over time, it developed as a maritime trading society and achieved a modern constitutional state through a peaceful transitional process in the early 20th century. It joined a regional bloc in the late 20th century and maintains close ties with neighbors.

Rjastra is governed by a parliament with a president as ceremonial head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The legislature is bicameral, consisting of the Assembly and the Senate. Elections are held every four years, often producing coalition cabinets. The judiciary is independent, and civil liberties are protected.

The economy is diversified, with fisheries, shipping, and port services as traditional mainstays. Renewable energy, especially offshore wind, is expanding, along with tourism and light manufacturing. Trade concentrates on regional partners and international markets; the jas serves as the currency.

Rjastra is ethnically homogeneous with minority communities such as Norans and Mar. The state is secular; education is highly valued, with high literacy and strong public libraries. Cultural life emphasizes maritime heritage, literature, and music.
