Riskiprofiile is a structured characterization of the risk exposures, capabilities, and tolerance of a subject—an individual, organization, project, or system. It summarizes likely threats, potential losses, and the capacity to absorb them, providing a basis for risk assessment and informed decision making.

In finance and investment, the risk profile describes how much risk an investor is willing to assume and how that willingness translates into asset allocation and portfolio construction. In insurance, it helps determine premiums and terms by assessing the likelihood and severity of covered events. In other domains such as healthcare, information technology, and project management, risk profiles identify vulnerability points, potential impacts, and prioritization of controls and mitigations.

Core components typically include risk exposure (what could fail), likelihood (how probable a failure is), impact or consequence (the severity of losses), and vulnerability or exposure factors. A risk profile also notes existing controls, residual risk after mitigation, risk appetite or tolerance levels, thresholds for action, and monitoring metrics or indicators.
