RisikoManagement is a systematic process used to identify, assess, and control potential threats and uncertainties that could impact an organization's objectives. This process aims to minimize the negative consequences of risks and maximize opportunities. It is an ongoing and iterative activity, not a one-time event.

The first step in RisikoManagement is risk identification, where potential risks are brainstormed and documented. This can involve looking at internal factors like operational failures or financial instability, as well as external factors such as market changes, regulatory shifts, or natural disasters. Following identification, risks are assessed based on their likelihood of occurring and the potential impact they could have. This assessment often involves qualitative and quantitative methods to prioritize risks.

Once risks are assessed, strategies are developed to manage them. These strategies typically fall into four categories: risk avoidance, where the activity giving rise to the risk is eliminated; risk reduction, where measures are taken to decrease the likelihood or impact of a risk; risk sharing, where the risk is transferred to a third party, such as through insurance; and risk acceptance, where the potential impact is deemed acceptable and no action is taken.

Effective RisikoManagement requires clear communication, defined responsibilities, and regular monitoring and review to ensure that controls remain effective and that new risks are identified and managed as they emerge. It is a crucial component of good governance and strategic planning, helping organizations to achieve their goals more reliably and sustainably.
