Riistvaraks

Riistvaraks is a term originating from Estonian, literally translating to "hardware" in English. It encompasses all the physical components of a computer system or any electronic device. This includes tangible parts that can be seen and touched, such as the central processing unit (CPU), motherboard, random-access memory (RAM), hard drive, graphics card, and the computer's casing. In a broader sense, it can also refer to peripherals like keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, and scanners. The term distinguishes these physical elements from the software, which comprises the instructions and data that tell the hardware what to do. Without hardware, software has no means to execute, and without software, hardware is essentially useless. The concept of riistvaraks is fundamental to understanding how any digital device functions, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between its physical form and its operational logic.
