Resårer

Resårer, also known as "resorption cysts" or "resorption cavities," are small, fluid-filled sacs that can develop in the jawbone. They typically occur in the mandible, the lower jawbone, and are often associated with the roots of teeth. Resårer are usually benign and do not cause pain or discomfort. They are believed to form due to the body's natural process of bone remodeling, where old or damaged bone tissue is absorbed and replaced with new tissue.

The exact cause of resårer is not fully understood, but they are thought to be related to trauma, infection, or inflammation in the jawbone. They can also be associated with certain medical conditions, such as osteoporosis or Paget's disease. Resårer are usually discovered incidentally during dental or medical examinations, as they often do not cause any symptoms.

The diagnosis of resårer is typically made through imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI. Treatment is usually not necessary unless the resårer causes symptoms or is causing damage to nearby structures. In such cases, surgical removal may be recommended. However, if left untreated, resårer usually do not cause any problems and can be monitored for any changes.

Resårer are relatively common, with an estimated prevalence of around 1-2% in the general population. They are more commonly found in older adults, but they can occur at any age.
