This involves a complex series of calculations and algorithms to simulate how light interacts with objects in a virtual environment. The process typically begins with modeling, where 3D objects are created and placed within a scene. Textures and materials are then applied to these objects, defining their surface properties like color, reflectivity, and roughness.
