Reljeefprintimisel, also known as embossed printing or simply embossing, is a printing technique that creates a raised or sunken design on a surface, typically paper or cardstock. This effect is achieved by using a die and a counter-die. The die is a metal plate engraved with the desired design in relief, either raised or recessed. The counter-die is a corresponding plate that complements the shape of the die.

During the process, the material to be embossed is placed between the die and the counter-die. Pressure is then applied, forcing the material to conform to the shape of the die. If the design is raised, the die is engraved with a raised pattern, and the counter-die is a recessed cavity. Conversely, for a sunken or debossed effect, the die has a recessed pattern, and the counter-die has a raised corresponding shape.

It is commonly used for creating distinguished stationery, business cards, invitations, book covers, and packaging. The technique can enhance the perceived quality and elegance of a product.
