Redpoint
Redpoint is a term used in rock climbing to describe a successful lead ascent of a route after the climber has previously worked the moves on that route. In a redpoint, the climber climbs from the ground to the top in a single, continuous effort without falling. The rope and protection are used for safety during the ascent, but the climb is not aided by rests or other devices that would constitute aid; while climbers may shake out onholds, a clean redpoint requires not falling from start to finish.
