Ramseykokeet

Ramseykokeet is a coastal municipality in the northern part of Alderland, a fictional country located on the northern temperate shelf. The municipality comprises the waterfront village of Ramseykokeet and surrounding rural areas. The name combines elements from the local language, with "Ramsey" referring to a historic family and "kokeet" meaning bay in the regional dialect. The population was about 7,800 as of the last census.

It extends along approximately 28 kilometers of coastline, featuring fjord-like inlets, rocky shores, and stands of conifer. The Ramseyriver runs through the municipality into Ramseykokeet Bay. The climate is maritime temperate, with mild summers and cool winters and relatively high humidity.

Historically, human activity in the area dates to the late Bronze Age, with continuous settlement centered on fishing and maritime trade. In the medieval period Ramseykokeet developed as a coastal hamlet and later became tied to timber and herring industries. Industrialization brought a rail link and small factories, and the population peaked in the early 20th century before stabilizing at a smaller size.

Today the local economy is dominated by coastal fisheries, aquaculture, and forestry, with tourism related to nature and maritime activities growing in importance. The community is largely composed of Alderland residents, and public administration and services are major employers alongside small-scale private enterprises.

Ramseykokeet hosts cultural events such as an August festival featuring sea shanties, crafts, and communal meals. Notable sites include the Ramseykokeet Lighthouse, the Ramseydal Nature Reserve, and several cliffside viewpoints known locally as Ramseyleap.
