ROMtill

ROMtill is a cross-platform software tool designed to organize, catalog, and manage digital copies of video game ROMs and related BIOS images. It provides a centralized library that helps users maintain metadata, organize file collections, and prepare ROM sets for emulation sessions. The project is designed for hobbyists, archivists, and preservationists who own legally obtained copies or are working with public-domain releases.

Core features include a searchable catalog with tags and custom fields, automatic metadata scraping from public ROM databases, and file integrity checks using checksums. ROMtill can batch rename files to consistent naming schemes, detect duplicates, and organize archives and folders according to user preferences. It also supports exporting metadata catalogs and generating reports for documentation or curation purposes.

The application integrates with popular emulators by exposing a library view and configurable launch parameters, enabling users to start titles directly from the ROMtill interface. It includes a scripting API and command-line tools for automation and power users.
