RISCI

RISCI (Risk Insight and Strategic Crisis Initiatives) is a nonprofit consortium founded in 2014 to provide evidence‑based analysis and policy recommendations on global risk management and crisis response. The organisation was established by a group of academics, civil‑service experts and private sector risk managers who noted a growing gap between the increasing frequency of transnational crises and the capacity of public institutions to anticipate and mitigate them. Its headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland, and it maintains satellite offices in New York, Jakarta and Nairobi.

RISCI’s mission is to create a coordinated network that gathers, validates and disseminates data on risk factors ranging from climate‑induced natural disasters to cyber‑security threats and geopolitical conflicts. The consortium operates through three main operating units: the Global Risk Analytics Unit, which compiles and models large‑scale datasets; the Policy Advocacy Unit, which translates analytical findings into actionable recommendations for governments and international organisations; and the Capacity‑Building Unit, which delivers training programmes for emergency‑management professionals worldwide.

Annual events include the Global Risk Forum, an international conference that brings together policymakers, researchers and industry leaders, and the RISCI Risk Report, a peer‑reviewed publication that ranks emerging threats across regions. By fostering collaboration across sectors and borders, RISCI aims to enhance preparedness, resilience and adaptive governance in an increasingly uncertain world.
