Põrandasoojus

Põrandasoojus, also known as underfloor heating, is a heating system that distributes heat through the floor. It is a common and efficient way to heat homes and buildings, offering a comfortable and even temperature distribution. There are two primary types of põrandasoojus: electric and hydronic.

Electric põrandasoojus typically uses heating cables or mats installed beneath the floor covering. These systems are often used for smaller areas or in renovations due to their relatively simple installation. They are powered by electricity and can be controlled by a thermostat to maintain a desired temperature.

Hydronic põrandasoojus, on the other hand, uses a network of pipes filled with hot water. This water is circulated from a central heating source, such as a boiler or heat pump. The pipes are embedded in the floor screed or attached to the underside of floor joists. Hydronic systems are generally more energy-efficient for larger spaces and can be integrated with renewable energy sources.
