Páscoa is the Portuguese word for Easter, a major Christian festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is observed by Christians worldwide and is a period of religious significance and cultural traditions.

The observance of Páscoa typically begins with Holy Week, which commemorates the final week of Jesus's life, including his crucifixion on Good Friday. Páscoa Sunday itself marks the culmination of this solemn period with joyous celebrations of his resurrection. In many Portuguese-speaking countries, religious services are central to the festivities, often featuring solemn processions on Good Friday and more uplifting celebrations on Páscoa Sunday.

Beyond its religious meaning, Páscoa is also a time for family gatherings and the sharing of special foods.
