Prozesssteuerungssysteme
Prozesssteuerungssysteme, often referred to as Process Control Systems (PCS), are a collection of hardware and software components used to automate and manage industrial processes. They are integral to modern manufacturing, chemical plants, power generation, and many other industries where precise control over continuous or batch operations is essential. The primary goal of a PCS is to maintain a process variable, such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, or level, at a desired setpoint. This is achieved through a feedback loop. Sensors continuously monitor the process variable and send this information to a controller. The controller compares the measured value to the setpoint and calculates any necessary adjustments. Actuators then implement these adjustments to influence the process.
Common components of a PCS include sensors for measurement, controllers (which can range from simple analog
