Pressinglinie

Pressinglinie, literally “pressing line,” is a term used in German to describe a line of players designated to apply pressure on the opposition to recover the ball. In football and other team sports, it refers to the frontmost line of pressure and is a component of a team's pressing strategy. It is usually coordinated with the defensive line and midfield to reduce space for the opponents and to force mistakes or long balls. It is not a fixed geometric line; its position shifts with the game situation and the opponent's build-up. Different variants exist, such as a high press, a mid-high press, or organized counter-pressing (Gegenpressing), where players immediately try to recover the ball after losing possession. The effectiveness depends on fitness, coordination, pressing triggers, and when to retreat to balance defense.

In manufacturing, a Pressinglinie (also called a stamping line) is a production line that uses mechanical or hydraulic presses to form sheet metal, plastic, or composite parts. The line typically comprises feeders, presses, transfer or automation equipment, tooling such as dies, and quality control stations.
