Premalignas

Premalignas refers to a group of conditions that are not cancerous but have the potential to become cancerous over time. These are often referred to as pre-cancerous conditions or lesions. They represent a stage of cellular abnormality where changes in the cells' structure and function have occurred, making them more susceptible to developing into invasive cancer. However, not all premalignas will inevitably progress to cancer, and in many cases, they can be treated or managed to prevent malignant transformation.

If abnormal cells are identified, a biopsy is usually performed to examine the tissue more closely and determine the degree of abnormality. The management of premalignas varies depending on the specific condition, its severity, and the patient's overall health. Options can range from watchful waiting and regular monitoring to surgical removal of the affected tissue or other medical treatments aimed at reversing or halting the cellular changes. Early detection and intervention are key to preventing the progression to cancer.
