In depictions, predellathe is described as a luminescent, arthropod-like creature with a segmented body and multiple appendages. The exoskeleton is often portrayed as a tough carapace adapted to rugged cave walls, with bioluminescent organs arranged along the flanks that may serve for camouflage, lure, or communication in darkness. Sensory structures such as antennae or plical organs are imagined to detect vibrations, air currents, and chemical cues in confined spaces.

Ecology and behavior patterns vary across works, but common elements include a reliance on ambush predation and efficient energy use in resource-poor environments.
