Praxisdarstellung is a term used in German-speaking education and professional training to describe the presentation or representation of practical work. It refers to the explicit depiction of professional practice in a way that connects theoretical knowledge with concrete actions, decisions, and outcomes. The concept is commonly employed in teacher education, vocational training, and other fields where practitioners must demonstrate competence beyond theoretical understanding.

In educational settings, Praxisdarstellung often forms part of assessments or portfolios. Trainees document a concrete teaching unit, intervention, or work process, including context, aims, methods, sequence of activities, and observed results. Artifacts such as lesson plans, materials, student work, or video excerpts may accompany the narrative. The presentation typically includes a brief theoretical justification, showing how relevant concepts informed decisions and how results were evaluated. The goal is to show both practical skill and the ability to reflect on practice.

Typical elements of a Praxisdarstellung include situational description, objectives, implemented procedures, observed challenges, outcomes, and a reflexive assessment with lessons learned and possible transfers to future practice. It is often combined with Praxisreflexion, where the practitioner critically analyzes what worked, what did not, and why, linking practice to theoretical frameworks.
