Poskiontelotulehdus, also known as sinusitis or maxillary sinusitis, is a common medical condition characterized by inflammation of the lining of the paranasal sinuses, specifically the maxillary sinuses which are located in the cheekbones. This inflammation can be caused by a variety of factors, including viral infections, bacterial infections, fungal infections, allergies, or nasal polyps.

Symptoms of poskiontelotulehdus can vary but often include facial pain or pressure, particularly around the cheeks, forehead, and eyes. This pain may worsen when bending forward or lying down.
