Poipu

Poipu is a census-designated place located on the southern shore of the island of Kauai in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is a popular tourist destination known for its sunny weather, beautiful beaches, and upscale resorts. The name "Poipu" is derived from a Hawaiian word meaning "crush."

The area historically served as a sugarcane plantation, with remnants of its agricultural past still visible in the landscape. Development for tourism began in the mid-20th century, transforming Poipu into a resort community. Today, it is one of Kauai's primary economic drivers, attracting visitors year-round.
