Piezoelemekkel refers to the use of piezoelectric elements, which are materials that produce an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress, or conversely, deform when an electric field is applied. This phenomenon, known as the piezoelectric effect, is exhibited by certain crystals and ceramics. When these materials are subjected to pressure or vibration, their internal atomic structure shifts, generating a voltage. Conversely, applying a voltage causes these materials to expand or contract. This bidirectional relationship makes piezoelectric elements versatile components in various applications. Common examples include transducers that convert sound waves into electrical signals (microphones) and electrical signals into sound waves (speakers or buzzers). They are also utilized in sensors for measuring pressure, force, and acceleration, as well as in actuators for precise positioning and vibration control. The miniaturization and robustness of piezoelectric devices have led to their widespread adoption in consumer electronics, automotive systems, medical equipment, and industrial automation. Research continues to explore new piezoelectric materials with enhanced properties and novel applications.
