Pewterfiguurit

Pewterfiguurit are small decorative or collectible objects cast from pewter. Pewter is an alloy traditionally composed of tin, antimony, and copper. Historically, pewter was also mixed with lead, but modern pewter formulations avoid lead for safety and environmental reasons. The metal is relatively soft and has a low melting point, making it suitable for casting intricate designs.

The production of pewterfiguurit typically involves the lost-wax casting method or die-casting. In lost-wax casting, a wax model of the desired figure is created, then encased in a mold. The wax is melted out, leaving a cavity into which molten pewter is poured. Once cooled, the mold is broken away to reveal the pewter figure. Die-casting uses a reusable metal mold, which is more efficient for mass production.

They are popular among collectors due to their detailed craftsmanship and the unique patina that pewter develops over time.
