Parkimismaale
Parkimismaale is a structure designed for vehicle parking, typically providing multiple levels or underground space to accommodate cars, motorcycles, and other wheeled transport. In Estonian usage the term is commonly translated as a parking garage or parking hall. These facilities are built to store vehicles off street and to organize traffic flow within a compact footprint, often adjacent to urban centers, shopping areas, or transit hubs.
There are several types of parkimismaale. Above-ground multilevel garages use several storeys to maximize capacity in
Key design features include clearly defined parking spaces, driving lanes, ramps or lifts, and pedestrian walkways.
Operations and governance cover access control, pricing (hourly rates, monthly passes), capacity management, and security measures.
Planning considerations seek to minimize traffic disruption, maximize space efficiency, and harmonize with surrounding urban infrastructure.
