Pallställningar, often translated as pallet racking, are modular storage systems designed to hold standard pallets in horizontal rows with multiple levels. These systems are crucial for efficient warehouse and storage operations, maximizing vertical space utilization. The primary function is to store goods in stable, accessible configurations.

The most common type is the selective pallet rack, which allows access to every pallet individually without needing to move other pallets. Other variations exist, such as drive-in racks for high-density storage where forklifts drive into the rack, and push-back racks, which use a pallet-on-pallet system to store multiple pallets deep. Cantilever racks are designed for long or irregularly shaped items.

The construction typically involves upright frames and horizontal beams. The upright frames provide the vertical support, while the beams attach to the frames and support the pallets. Safety is a key consideration, with features like load beams, wire decking, and upright protectors commonly integrated. Regular inspections and adherence to weight limits are essential to prevent accidents and maintain the integrity of the racking system.
