PVDFcohexafluoropropylene
PVDF-co-hexafluoropropylene, commonly referred to as PVDF-HFP, is a fluoropolymer copolymer of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP). This random copolymer combines the chemical resistance, thermal stability, and mechanical strength of polyvinylidene fluoride with the increased flexibility and improved processability imparted by the hexafluoropropylene comonomer. The HFP content can vary, typically in the 10–40 mole percent range, which allows tuning of crystallinity, glass transition temperature, and mechanical properties.
PVDF-HFP exhibits high chemical resistance to acids, bases, and many organic solvents, and maintains performance under
Applications of PVDF-HFP are diverse. It is used in chemical-processing equipment linings and protective coatings, corrosion-resistant
