Opastusvaloja
Opastusvaloja, literally translated as “guidance lights,” are a category of street and pathway lighting designed primarily for safety and wayfinding rather than general illumination. They are commonly used in urban and suburban environments to enhance visibility during twilight and nighttime, especially in residential areas, commercial districts, and pedestrian corridors. The main goal of opastusvaloja is to reduce accidents by marking routes, sidewalk edges, and pedestrian crossings with subtle but clearly visible light.

Installation guidelines recommend placing opastusvaloja at intervals of 3–6 metres along sidewalks, around stairs, and at
