Nõgeslöök

Nõgeslöök, commonly known as nettle rash or urticaria, is a skin reaction that causes raised, itchy welts. These welts, also called hives, can vary in size and shape and may appear anywhere on the body. The itching associated with nõgeslöök can be intense. Nõgeslöök is often caused by an allergic reaction to certain foods, medications, insect stings, or environmental factors like pollen or pet dander. In some cases, the cause may not be identifiable. Physical stimuli such as pressure, heat, cold, or sunlight can also trigger its appearance. Stress can sometimes exacerbate existing nõgeslöök. The rash typically appears suddenly and can last for a few hours or several days. When the welts resolve, they usually do not leave any lasting marks on the skin. Diagnosis is generally made based on the characteristic appearance of the rash and a review of the individual's medical history. Treatment focuses on relieving itching and addressing the underlying cause if identified. Antihistamines are the primary medication used to manage the symptoms. Avoiding known triggers is also a crucial part of prevention. In most instances, nõgeslöök is a temporary condition that resolves on its own without serious complications.
