Novaris

Novaris is a coastal city-state located on the Novari Peninsula along the eastern shore of the continent of Eldara. The population is around 370,000. It operates as a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral Assembly consists of sixty members elected to four-year terms.

Historically, Novaris began as a trading post in the early medieval period, growing through harbor commerce and regional shipping routes. It achieved de facto independence in the 13th century and later gained recognition in regional settlement treaties.

Novaris sits in a sheltered bay with a mix of lowland streets and surrounding hills. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and relatively warm summers; maritime influence moderates temperatures.

The economy centers on maritime trade, logistics, financial services, and fisheries. A diversified service sector supports research institutions and tourism. The port handles container traffic and passenger ferries to neighboring islands.

The official language is Novari; the population is diverse, with communities of merchants, artisans, and students. Education is provided by public schools and Novaris University. Cultural life includes the annual Maritime Festival and a number of theaters and galleries.

Novaris has a deep-water port, an international airport, and a modern rail and road network connecting districts and neighboring regions.
