Neoplasmas
Neoplasms, commonly referred to as tumors, are abnormal growths of cells. This abnormal proliferation occurs when cells divide and grow excessively without the normal regulatory mechanisms that control cell growth and division. The origin of a neoplasm is a change in the genetic material of a cell, leading to uncontrolled division. These changes can be spontaneous or induced by environmental factors.
Neoplasms can be classified into two broad categories: benign and malignant. Benign neoplasms are generally non-cancerous.
Malignant neoplasms, on the other hand, are cancerous. They are characterized by their ability to invade surrounding
