Nebenniereninzidentalome are tumors of the adrenal gland that are discovered incidentally during medical imaging performed for reasons unrelated to the adrenal glands. These imaging studies, such as CT scans or MRIs, are often done to investigate abdominal pain, kidney stones, or other conditions. The term "incidentaloma" highlights that the tumor was not intentionally sought but rather found by chance.

The majority of nebenniereninzidentalome are benign adenomas, which are non-cancerous growths. However, a small percentage can be malignant or produce hormones that cause clinical symptoms. Therefore, further evaluation is necessary to determine the nature and function of these incidental findings.
