Naturisme

Naturisme, also known as naturism, is a lifestyle and social movement that promotes non-sexual nudity as a means of connecting with nature, rejecting stigma about the naked body, and fostering body acceptance, personal freedom, and mutual respect. Practitioners typically socialize in clothing-optional settings such as beaches, camps, resorts, and private clubs, and participation is voluntary and family-friendly in many communities.

The modern naturist movement originated in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with the German Freikörperkultur (FKK) movement playing a key role and France and other countries contributing through organized associations and nude beaches. In 1953, the International Naturist Federation (INF-FNI) was formed to coordinate national groups and promote naturism internationally.

Core principles include respect for others, privacy, consent, and care for the environment. Nudity is meant to be non-sexual and etiquette-focused: many venues prohibit photography, harassment, or explicit sexual behavior; rules may vary by site and by country; families and individuals of various ages and body types participate.

Legal status varies by jurisdiction. Some countries permit nudity on designated beaches and resort facilities, while others restrict it to private property. Naturist clubs and resorts operate worldwide, with membership-based communities and guidelines designed to ensure safety and respectful conduct.
