NVDIMMs
NVDIMMs, or non-volatile DIMMs, are memory modules designed to provide both fast access and data persistence. They combine volatile memory with non-volatile storage and incorporate power-loss protection so that data in memory can be preserved across outages. This capability makes NVDIMMs attractive for servers and data centers that require rapid crash recovery and durable in-memory data.
A primary variant is NVDIMM-N, which uses DRAM as the fast volatile layer alongside a non-volatile backing
Adoption of NVDIMMs requires hardware and software support, including appropriate power-loss protection, firmware, and operating system
