Muunnoshäiriöistä, known in English as conversion disorder, is a psychiatric condition where a person experiences physical symptoms, such as paralysis, blindness, or seizures, that are not explained by a medical condition. The symptoms are believed to be a response to psychological stress or conflict. The term "conversion" refers to the idea that psychological distress is converted into physical symptoms.

The onset of muunnoshäiriöistä is often sudden and may be triggered by a stressful event or trauma. The symptoms can vary widely and affect any part of the body. For example, someone might suddenly lose the ability to walk or speak, or experience tremors and involuntary movements.
