Muromians
The Muromians were a Finnic-speaking tribe who inhabited the area around the Oka River in what is now Russia, particularly in the region of Murom. They are mentioned in early East Slavic chronicles, notably the Primary Chronicle, as one of the tribes subject to the Kievan Rus'. Their territory was located southeast of the major Slavic tribes and bordered the Mordvins to the west and the Mari to the north.
